❶ Introduction and Features
This program helps to improve a child's mastery of several math skills. In addition to the four basic arithmetical operations, fractions, decimals and time are included. At the beginner's level the principles of the math operations are visually introduced. Problem solving games turn the drudgery of math practice into fun through the use of creative games. Plans are to have two additional math programs available by year's end. One will be for younger students, while the other will concentrate on the more advanced skill levels.
¡ÜGradual escalation After learning the concept of operation, children can play games which give them motives to solve problems. And then countless problems are given - children also can check whether their answers are right or wrong after solving them. The problems are printable.
¡ÜIncluding difficulty levels Each activity has several difficulty levels so that children may study at their own level.
¡ÜInfinite process Since the computer compounds the elements of problem randomly at every activity, problems do not come out in a fixed procedure. Therefore children may not feel flat easily.
1. Addition |
The addition machine is showing the concepts of addition such as 'progressing by ten' and 'carrying' etc. |
2. Subtraction |
The subtraction machine is showing the principle of 'deduction' and 'borrowing' etc. |
3. Multiplication |
The concept of multiplication is explained as repeated additions. It is also explained with areas of square. |
4. Division |
The operation of division is more complicated than addition, deduction and multiplication because their concepts are all involved in it. Following the procedure led by computer, children can master division. |
5. Time operation |
After learning the units of time such as second, minute, hour and the relations between them, children can enjoy clock calculation. |
6. Fraction |
The concept of fraction is explained by cutting a bar of 1(one) into pieces. |
7. Decimal Fraction |
Simple addition and subtraction which totals less than 1(one) can be practiced in calculation machine. |
8. Measure |
The relation between large units and small units of measurements such as weight, volume and length are introduced. |
9. Calendar |
A calendar is introduced. Children learn the relations among the date, day, week, month and year. The calendar of the month can be printed. | |
